Hangin' with the fam!

My cousins from Denver came to Austin this past weekend for a fun filled visit! They rented a fabulous house with a beautiful view of downtown and a pool that we have greatly enjoyed!

Busy bees!!

Wow! I just want to thank my mom for all of her help this week! We put together 2 cribs and an IKEA dresser (which had at least 200 parts...no joke)! We also cleaned out an extra closet to use for the babies, since the one in their room is super tiny!

Here is a little picture timeline of our progress...

Just the hardware for the dresser....

Good progress! It just makes me so happy to walk in there!!

We still have a ways to go, but it sure feels good to have the big stuff in! Oh, I also get to pick up my glider tomorrow! Can't wait!

Lunch break!

My mom and I were hard at work in the nursery and were so glad when Sarah and Blakeley wanted to meet for lunch! We headed to Central Market then had some time to play on the playscape.

I was shocked when I saw this picture...Who is that pregnant chick with the HUGE belly?!?! OMG, it's me!
(At least I know they are growing, right!)

I passed!!!!!

I passed the 3 hour glucose test...whew! I was worried because I know that there is an increased chance of Gestational Diabetes with multiples. I will certainly continue to be careful and watch what I eat!

This weekend I took a walk with Gary and the puggers in the morning and it didn't go too well...I had to cut it short because I started to feel lightheaded. Then Gary and I went swimming on Sunday...much better! I still have to be careful, but it is something that I feel I can do, and being submerged in the water feels grrrreat!

Here is Gary finishing up his laps...

Goodbye Blue Room...

Work on the nursery has begun! Gary spent today painting...THANK YOU! It looks fantastic! Sorry I could not help you!

The next step will be to assemble the furniture! My mom is coming in on Tuesday and we will work on the furniture. For some reason, I have always enjoyed assembling furniture, but have a feeling that after 2 cribs and a dresser that I might change my tune! I am excited to get things rolling though!

23 week update.

23 weeks today! So a lot has been going on behind the scenes lately! My doctor is being very proactive regarding the dizzy spells.  I have seen a neurologist for an EEG and cortisol bloodwork, who then recommended a echocardiogram.  All of the tests have come back normal...whew! So today at my appt, my doctor attributed the dizzy spells to twin pregnancy...he just said that everything is being compressed and with the rapid growth that I just need to drink fluids and lie on my left side.  I do think that lack of activity and increased resting is helping.  Haven't had a dizzy spell since last Monday!

On to today's 1-hour glucose test...not so good.  It was 157 and they want it to be under 140...BOOOO! I get to go back for the 3-hour test next week.  I can't wait (insert sarcasm)!

Any of you have any advice for the 3-hour or diet changes I should make?

Ashley came all the way from NOLA to hang out! It was so great to see her! We had a such a fun time...On Thursday, we started out at Flip Happy Crepes for lunch with some friends then Gary fired up the grill for dinner!

Friday we hit the pool with Blakeley and Sarah and then treated ourselves to a pedicure...AHHHH!

Dinner at Enoteca...

We hit some baby boutiques and IKEA on Saturday and then Ashley was my date to a friend's wedding.

Thank you so much for coming to visit...I hope to see you again very soon!
