34 weeks!

Yay! 34 weeks! I had 2 appts this week…I was hoping to get some info out of the docs as to when they thought  these babies would/could be welcomed into this world, but got nothin’!  We did however get to see the babies today and all looks good…moving (I coulda told em that), breathing,  and fluid all looks good. Oh, and they both have hair…guess they take after their momma!!! So great news today!

Next week, my doc said he would check my cervix and we could talk about my options for the birth.

This week I have been stretched to the MAX and now have gotten the beautiful and lovely stretch marks…I was thinking that I had avoided that symptom, but I guess being a bit over capacity is the culprit!

Sarah and I enjoyed a pedicure to celebrate making it to 34 weeks…it felt so good!

33 weeks and now going for the GOLD!!

Today is 33 weeks! This week started off pretty rough, but has thankfully gotten better!  I think I caught a little bug of some sort and had tummy issues on Mon and Tues.  Thankfully Sarah picked up Imodium and Sprite…life saver!  Then Tues night I thought my water may have broken and was trickling out slowly, so the doc asked me to come in.  They checked and everything is in tact and am on antibiotics for a little infection.

My mom came in on Wed and got here just in time…she was able to drive me to the doc for the impromptu visit!  She has already done so much…I can’t thank her enough!

The peri congratulated me on getting the SILVER medal by making it past 32 weeks, and said that if I make it a couple more weeks (to 35 weeks) that I would get the GOLD medal! Game on…I am going for the GOLD!

Mom snapped a couple of pics yesterday of the belly in the nursery!  I am loving the wall decals, so I had to get both in a pic!

32 weeks!

Whew! Let’s keep this going!

From BabyCenter:

32 baby center

Although many may think that bed rest may be relaxing and easy, I am working hard at keeping these babies in!  Each day I am feeling a bit more uncomfortable (not complaining, just stating a fact). Things that are happening:

  • Round ligament pain…can barely pick up my left foot to get dressed.  You would laugh if you saw me getting dressed!
  • Lung capacity = zero.  I am out of breath walking to the potty.
  • Rib pain… I think Finley is putting so much pressure on my ribs that the left side of my back is hurting!
  • Carpal tunnel…lovely numbness in my right thumb.
  • Babies are moving a ton…their way of letting me know they are okay!

I am so thankful that I am able to experience these symptoms as we worked so hard for this.

Grace left today, but left us with great food so we can actually have meals for dinner (entree and sides)!  We had quite a week and really relied on her a lot…our AC went out Monday night and was fixed Tuesday then the pilot light broke on our water heater Wednesday morning and was fixed on Thursday.   I was so thankful to have her here to help!

I’ll try to update with a belly pic tomorrow!

31 weeks!

Another week down!! I had a couple of doctors appointments this week and got to see the babies on Thursday.  They are growing nicely…she is in the lead with a weigh in at 4 lbs 3 oz and he is right behind at 3 lbs 12 oz.  Not sure why she jumped out in front just now, but that explains the slight tilt in my belly!

I did take another fetal fibronectin test and completely threw the doc when it came back positive again.  He was certain it would be negative, so he did officially prescribe modified bed rest. So here I sit!

I have started a great book , Water for Elephants(thanks Jan!!) and am working on a teeny tiny project for Texas 4000 Gala, and Sarah got me the supplies to make a cute ribbon wreath (at least I hope it turns out cute)! So I am trying to stay busy!

Grace came into town last week and has been a huge help.  She has cooked, taken pugs for walks, done laundry, ran errands and SO MUCH MORE!   Thank you so much, Grace!

Showered by friends!

Yesterday my sweet coworkers hosted a baby shower for me.   They were so sweet and accommodated my need for bed rest and brought the shower to me.  I was so excited to see everyone! I am so grateful to have taught with such wonderful people.  Thank you Tamara and Jan for such a wonderful day! (They were working so hard that I totally forgot to get a pic with the super hostesses) Here are a few of the pics from the festivities…

Yummmmmm!!! The cake was DELICIOUS!!

30 weeks

We have made it to the thirties!!!!!!  Let’s keep going! I have been very good and staying off my feet as much as possible.  My poor couch cushions have taken a beating!! Here is my growing belly…

Things that are happening:

  • Tons of movement from the babies…I think they are officially competing for space now.
  • Horrible heartburn continues.
  • Tightening of the tummy when standing
  • Bought a shower stool for the shower…genius!
  • Making “to do” lists out the whazoo! What else do I have to do all day!
  • Loving Netflix…as a new member, it is keeping me sane!
  • My poor ribs…really just my left side.  Finley is using them as a pillow.
  • Never have I done so much online shopping!

I just want to say how lucky I am to have the best friends and family EVER!  My friends and family are bringing food over, coming over to just hang out, running errands and so much more.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!

I am looking forward to my appts this week! Will update after we have more info!
