Not your average golf tourney...

Gary played in the Annual Invitational Golf Tourney this past weekend! It is always worth going for a little bit to get a good laugh. It is certainly not your average golf tournament...includes prizes for the best 1970s golf attire and best real mustache!

Gary and Kent
They obviously didn't win either award this year! They won the first year,  though!!

Flower power!

Blakeley and I needed a spring picture...so here it is! She is so much fun...everytime I see her she is saying new things...little smarty pants!

10 pc., please!

I think I had my first real craving today...chicken nuggets and french fries.  Not the healthiest, but boy did it taste fantastic! After an afternoon of shopping for pants that fit, I just couldn't stop thinking about them, so I thought, what the heck...indulge!

YUM! Although, I think I could have eaten the 20 pc. no problem!!!!

12 weeks...my little limes!

12 week fraternal twins

Wow! 12 weeks, really!?!?!  We started this morning with a tiny bit of spotting...ARG.  I am not worried about it...it was brown and very little and has stopped! Whew!  I am just going to relax this weekend...ahhh!

Here is what babycenter has to say about the little limes this week...

The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.

Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

Belly pic

The other night I was out with friends and was encouraged to do a belly pic.  I can honestly say I already have a little belly.  Just this week it has really begun to protrude a bit.  It is interesting though,  I was comparing with a friend (who mind you is super tiny) and she has just a bump in her lower abs.  Mine, however, looks and feels like upper and lower abs are filling out.

Pool Time!

I was able to spend today splashing around with Blakeley and Sarah...what a way to spend a Wednesday!  The sun was shining, the ducks were out, and we had just a wonderful time!

Here are a few pics from the day...

Just a couple of kumquats.

10 weeks! Friday's have become overly celebrated lately...the end of the exhausting work week, and a new week in the growth of the babies! This week marks the end of the embryo stage and the beginning of the fetal period...they are each the size of a kumquat.

Now yesterday morning, aka Friday the 13th, started out rough for me...I discovered my very first (and hopefully last) spotting.  Of course, scared outta my mind, I called the emergency line and one of the docs called back.  He tried to reassure me that this is very normal throughout pregnancy and told me to monitor and call if i experienced any cramping or bright red.  I was kinda scatter brained at work in the morning and went potty any chance I would get.  Luckily all was clear.

After my OB appt on Tuesday, my doc warned me that I could have some spotting for a couple of days after the tests, but I had had nothing...until Friday.  So I was probably a bit overly paranoid, but I am okay with that!  Everyone who I have talked to who had some spotting during pregnancy has reassured me not to worry...I am not worried anymore!

So now I begin my SPRING BREAK vacation...nothin but a whole lotta R&R!!! Ahhhhh!

First OB Appt...

Met with my OB for the first time today! It was nice to get hugs and congrats from the nurses who helped with my very first IUI's that I did in their office.

Now for the good stuff...he kept my due date the same, Oct 9. And both babies looked great with good, strong heartbeats!

Here are the pics...I think these aren't as clear as my other ones, but they will do! We also got a VHS (what is that and how do I watch it, heehee!!!).

Both babies side by side
Baby on the right kept fluttering around! It was so cool!

Baby A (I think)

Baby B

Next appt will be Apr 2. I can't wait...seeing them grow is so surreal.

I had a dream the other night and had 2 beautiful healthy baby girls...It was so vivid! The only thing I care about is the "healthy baby" part!

Symptoms

I have not posted about any pregnancy symptoms yet.  I do have to say I consider myself very lucky...I have not gotten sick.  Now here is what is happenning...
  • 1. Nausea: I am nauseous in the morning, I think mainly due to the prenatal vitamins on an empty stomach, but it does linger throughout the morning.  I have a bottle of OJ with me at all times which seems to help.
  • 2. Food Aversions: I think this was my very first one early at 5.5 weeks or so when I was cooking chicken and had to get Gary to finish...haven't cooked chicken since. Things just don't sound good to me.
  • 3. Smells: My sense of smell is certainly hightened...not so good when potty training 4 and 5 year olds at school!
  • 4. Sore Ta-Ta's: They were very sore early on, but that has subsided a bit.
  • 5. Frequent pottying: So I get up about 5-6 times a night to pee.  I was just amazed that this symptom started so early on.  I read that it could be due to increased production of blood.
  • 6. Fatigue: Geez am I tired! I crawl into bed around 8ish, but don't sleep well mostly due to #5.
  • 7. Hunger: I can't seem to eat enough! I eat, and an hour later I am STARVING!  I always have a bag of saltines in my purse for emergencies!
Please don't think I am complaining...I am embracing these as best I can!!! I have waited a ONG tome to have these symptoms!  I am learning very quickly that I am not in control of my body any more! 2 little "kidney beans" have taken over!

Gary is being so great...I am not cooking dinner, so he has to fend for himself at the moment!  He even brought me ice cream in bed this evening! Awww!

Twin Books

I have taken this weekend to educate myself on twin pregnancy.  I went to B&N and got a couple of  books...

Are there any other books that anyone recommends?  I would like to get one on breasfeeding twins, but B&N did not have it.
