My ice skating debut!

Since I was a little girl I have always wanted to go ice skating! I would watch ice skating and pretend to ice skate in my living room with my friend, Meghan! We went to Stars on Ice at the Superdome and loved every minute! Fast forward a few years and at 32, I had still never been ice skating for real…until this weekend!!! I put on ice skates and hit the ice! It was so much fun…a dream come true! Can’t wait to get on the ice again one day…and take Finley and Zane with me!

 

The fans were great and cheered me on!

Blakeley loved ice skating too! Could her smile be any bigger?!?!

 

Twas the night before Christmas…

We had a great Christmas Eve spent with my family! We celebrated over at my sister’s house and opened presents! It is definitely a different dynamic than in the past…BK (before kids)! You most certainly have to channel your inner multi-tasker…hand out gifts, open your gifts and ones for the toddlers, thank the giver of the gifts, all while chasing around your 15 month olds and re-wrapping the gifts that they were not supposed to unwrap!! Oh what fun!  It was a great night had by all and we are so thankful to be able to spend it together!

Then we headed to our house to continue our Rudy’s BBQ  Christmas Eve dinner…yummy!!! What a great night!!!

Had ourselves a Merry little Christmas!

Twas the days after Christmas and all through the house

I revisit the  fun with a click of the mouse…

Stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

In hopes that Santa would soon be there!

Christmas morning was filled with laughter and joy,  

as the house was taken over with lots of new toys!

We had a great time spending Christmas with family.  We are so fortunate and blessed!

 

15 months

Finley and Zane are both busy busy bodies! It is so fun to watch! What are they up to? Here ya go…

They are both starting to talk…Although Zane is a man of few words he points to everything!! Finley is becoming quite the “talker”…typical girl!!

Zane: dada, down (for go downstairs), up for pick me up or upstairs, and lots of other babbling!!

Finley: daddy, down, up, bow, ball, balloon,  dog, Tanky, baby, uh-oh, momma (only a few times…boo),  and the following words only a mother (father and grandparents) can understand….

/kah/ for car

/wawa/ for water

/kaka/ for cracker

/kak/ for quack

/uck/ for duck

moo, baa, nah (animal sounds)

/bay buh/  for belly button

/boo/ for balloon

They both love to be “chased” and just giggle then start running towards you…it is so cute!

Their favorite foods: ritz whole grain crackers, fruit, raisins, cheese, beans, goldfish, and the beloved cheerios!

They both got their first ear infection…boo.

We are on our way to taking one nap.

You love love love Tank and Vader! They can cheer you up and make you giggle!

Zilker Tree Tradition…

Finley and Zane got to spin around under the Zilker Tree this year! They both loved it and kept tilting their heads back for more spinning!
