Tummy time is hard work, but no fussing here just working hard!
Ahhh…time to relax!
I am so thankful for a good nights sleep! I was able to catch some Z’z last night! Finley and Zane slept from 11-5!!!!!!!!!!! I am praying that this is a new trend! Here are a couple of pics from Thanksgiving dinner at Sarah’s.
Uncle Ryan and Aunt Jan
Amy challenged us to do a blog post each day this week about what we are thankful for. I knew I could not do a post each day, so I am lumping a weeks worth of thankfulness into one post!
I am thankful for…
My family…A lot has changed since last Thanksgiving. We are now a family of 4 (plus 2 furry babies)! I am so thankful that Finley and Zane are happy healthy babies! We are so lucky to have them and they were so worth waiting for! I would not be where I am today without the help from my family…we have had Grammy and GG here helping with everything from cooking, laundry, cleaning and of course holding babies!
My friends…I am thankful for all the support and encouragement that my friends have given me. For 7 weeks after having the babies, we had meals brought over twice a week from friends. Amazing! Also, many toys are borrowed from friends. Since we needed 2 of most things, friends have offered to let us borrow theirs!
My health…after a long recovery. I am feeling pretty darn good!
Hairdryer…it has been the on/off switch for colicky babies crying bouts! My mom left hers so that we could have one that stays in the nursery!
Baby Ka’tan sling…I can carry around a baby and be somewhat hands free!!! It can also help calm a colicky baby! (I actually have Finley in it right now as I type!)
Luna Bars…They got me through pregnancy and into motherhood!
iPhone…I can surf the web, respond to emails, check facebook and twitter all while nursing 2 babies at the same time!
Happy Turkey Day! Gobble Gobble!
We headed out for our very first playdate with our cousin, Blakeley! As Finley and Zane are not too fond of their car seats quite yet, I was a bit weary of the state we would arrive in…luckily only a few tears and they were both asleep when we got to Sarah’s…different story on the way home though-non-stop crying from both! I guess they didn’t want to leave! I of course had to load up extra stuff, so this is one reason why we have been pretty much MIA lately! That large pillow is the best thing to feed both of them at the same time …I can’t do it without it!
Thank you to Sarah for getting out the bouncy seats, swing, and pack n play for our visit! It was great fun! Grammy and Papa Tank got to play too! It is nice having so many extra set of arms to help hold! When can we do it again?!?!
We go and decide to flip a house. What are we thinking? We have owned a little rental property in Hyde Park for a few years and we pick this September for them to move out…poor, poor timing! September was picked way before we knew we were preggers… with twins! So it turns out that the babies were born September 24th and the tenants moved out on the 30th, thus prompting the beginning of the remodel! The house is looking great and I am really impressed with the quick decision making that has needed to be done! If you know anyone who is in the market for a little house in Austin, this would be perfect! Great location… close to restaurants, post office, grocery stores, shopping. We are still working on it and it should be completely finished early December.

2 month update:
We don’t go for their 2 month appt for another couple of weeks, so no stats to report. I may try to go weigh them today if we get a chance…I am just so curious!
We have been busy lately playing and exploring! They are seeming to be more and more
aware of the toys!
A smile from Zane!!! Still trying to capture one of Finley’s on camera!!!!
We’ve been so busy that we have worn out daddy!!!
I have had these videos for about a week now and just now getting around to uploading them…just a little bit busy!!
Whoa! I can’t believe it has been 6 weeks…only 6 weeks that is! With minimal sleep, the days and nights all seem to run together and I have to say that it seems like it has been months!! I don’t want to jinx myself, but it seems as if 6 weeks has been a turning point…
They are changing every day! They are just the sweetest little babies!
The time is coming…when the grandparents will not be here. My mom is leaving next week and I am dreading the day! Grace will come back to help for a little bit then we will need to survive on our own!
My mom ran an errand for me and this is what she found when she returned…
What do you do when both babies are crying at the same time and you’ve fed them? You put one in the sling and hold the other one and start walking. I guess they really enjoyed the closeness because the fell asleep almost immediately! Boy was I quick to hand one off when my mom came home! Although I love to snuggle with them, it isn’t easy carrying them both around at once!
